NDF visits the African Development Bank
Cooperation opportunities explored between NDF and the African Development Bank
In early January 2012, a Nordic Development Fund (NDF) delegation visited the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Tunis to present NDF’s climate change mandate. At a well-attended seminar NDF introduced its project identification and climate change screening tool, shared experiences from the development of climate change projects with other MDB’s, and gave an overview of the new NDF climate change portfolio in Africa. Two full days of meetings were held with key departments of the Bank to discuss possibilities for cooperation. AfDB and NDF have a history of joint cooperation dating back to 1995 that includes both country specific projects and regional initiatives. Since both the AfDB and NDF finance climate-change adaptation and mitigation projects the visit was rewarding as experiences and knowledge were exchanged between the two institutions.
