Since 2010, NDF, together with the World Bank, has financed the PROGEDE II project in Senegal. The project aims to increase the availability of diversified household fuels in a sustainable and gender-equitable way. The project also contributes to increasing the income of participating communities while preserving the forest ecosystems.
The World Bank has now published an article on its website about the project. The article explains the positive consequences of the project. It highlights that by involving women in Sustainable Energy Management whole, communities benefit. For instance, villages’ incomes are boosted and gender stereotypes are breaking down.
